Stories of disabled people’s life journeys and challenges

A consistent look and feel applied throughout

Brief

Design a 70,000 word report for ‘Our lives, our journey’, a pioneering five-year research study following the lives of disabled people.

Challenge

To bring to life a lot of research data, with relatively little imagery, in human, relatable (and accessible) formats to inspire engagement.

Solution

A storytelling approach, which turned data into a powerful, digestible narrative. We recommended breaking the overall report into five sub-reports, each with covers representing a different life-stage of living with disability.

We developed a strong, consistent look and feel, which flexed to the chapterised format while remaining moored to the Scope brand. We sought out the human voices amid the research data, enabling the design to tell relatable stories by highlighting participants’ experiences.

Result

A happy client, and a beautifully realised culmination of five years’ hard work.

We were delighted to have brought to life Scope’s first major intervention into research and advocacy since re-branding.
